Restore Oyster Reefs in the Indian River Lagoon
Oyster mat-making workshops will continue at the DRS Community Center, overseen by the Brevard Zoo. Please join us on any of the following dates: Jan. 28, Feb 25*** and Mar. 25th from 10-11:30am to learn more about this keystone species and make oyster restoration mats. No need to RSVP, all ages are welcome. Groups larger than 8, please call the SB Rec Dept at (321) 773-6458.  Plan to get a little dusty and have a good time! *** Feb 25th Oyster Mat Making will be held at Samsons Island during the SI Open House. Please call (321) 773-6458 to RSVP for boat transportation to Samsons Island.

PAL Tutoring
Looking for a little extra help with your schoolwork? PAL’s after school tutoring begins Aug 30 for students of all ages. Sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 3:30pm. Tutors are high school and college students. Students or tutors interested in participating, call PAL at (321) 777-8336.

Satellite Beach Farmers Market
The Satellite Beach Farmers Market continues weekly at Pelican Beach Park, 1525 Hwy A1A, on Thursdays, 10am-4pm. We are pleased to offer produce, fresh bread, jams, handmade lotions and soaps, teas, honey, hand crafted jewelry, wood artwork, tiki carvings and more. All items are hand crafted. The Satellite Beach Dog Park will host a weekly "YAPPY HOUR" event every Friday 5-7pm, February-April. Bring your furry friend(s) and walk around the SB Sports and Recreation Park; Three times around the landscaped sidewalk surrounding the park is 2 miles! Enjoy complimentary treats for your pup, giveaways for owners and pet lovers, and FREE admission to the SB Off-Leash Dog Park (entry requirements apply).

Experience Satellite Beach’s very own nature preserve by visiting Samsons Island. Explore the island’s trails in hopes of seeing some of the abundant wildlife, then stay for a free, light picnic lunch. Demonstrations will be on-going, and visitors can view or participate in programs on marine life identification, wildlife exhibits, oyster mat making, fishing, and bird watching. FREE boat transportation reservations between 9:30am-2pm must be made in advance by calling (321) 773-6458. Spaces are limited, RSVP early!

February 25    Kids Night Out
Start your weekend with a fun-filled night out! (For you and your child) This is a fundraiser for the RIM Competition Dance Team. They will provide a variety of activities including dance games, arts and crafts and game room fun. Pizza will be served and the night ends with a movie and popcorn. Don't miss the fun!        Ages: 4-11yrs Date and Time:  Saturday, Feb 25 from 6-10pm  Cost: $15/per person. Register in person at the SB Rec Dept by Tuesday Feb 21.

March 4    City-Wide Garage Sale    Two Ways to Sell!
Sell at the DRS Community Center 8am-12noon! Individuals or organizations can rent a 10’x10’ space for $15 in the DRS parking lot to sell their garage sale items. Space rental proceeds will benefit Relay For Life of South Brevard Beaches. City-Wide “At Home” Garage Sale
Sell from your own home! Satellite Beach residents can call (321) 773-6458 and provide your garage sale location for inclusion in a master “City Garage Sale” flyer listing all sale locations to be available for distribution on Friday, March 3.

March 18    Satellite Beach Coastal Garden Fair
Join us at this Inaugural Garden Fair, hosted by the Satellite Beach Beautification Board at the DRS Community Center from 9am-2pm. This family friendly, outdoor fair will promote embracing nature and nurturing our environment while beautifying our surroundings. A variety of vendors will be on hand showcasing garden related products and educational displays. Beautification Board members will be here to answer any questions you may have. Funds raised go to improvements such as the doggie-waste stations installed along Cassia Blvd and Crotty Park, and towards equipment for Samsons Island.
